Our Gloucester Training Centre for short course delegates and apprentices is at Meteor Business Park.
For 40 years we've been working with the UK's leading developers, with a focus on high quality workmanship and first-rate customer service, all delivered at the most competitive price. We operate from 21 branches across England and Wales. While the coverage is national, the service is local and tailored to the needs of each builder.
Start by checking the consumer unit (also known as the fuse board) to see if any of the fuse switches have tripped. This can happen if you plug in a faulty device or if a lamp blows, for example. If you need to reset switches inside your consumer unit and identify the reason for them tripping, this video explains the steps to take.

We moved in to a our new home last year. There were some issues that we noticed with Electrical works which were addressed promptly. There were a couple of larger issues, which took a while to resolve but its all done now. Thanks to Kyle who was the last engineer who visited, he was to issue the elec cert but also picked up on some of the stuff that was going on for some time, he has now fixed everything and tested the elec to for anew cert. He id in deed a star and asset for the company. Great person to have around, he is very knowledgeable and very thorough in his work. Thanks once again

I thought I'd take a few moments to let you know that in Kyle (I'm sorry I don't know his surname) you have an excellent technician and a first rate human being. He visited our property yesterday to try and resolve an issue I'd first raised with Mears back in November. Once I'd explained the nature of the problem I was impressed by his knowledge and professionalism in going about solving it and his willingness to explain what he was doing and why.

To be honest, quite a lot of what he told me went a bit over my head but it was obvious that he knew what he was talking about and that instilled me with the utmost confidence that the problem would finally be resolved after four months. When it came to actually carrying out the work required he was very neat and tidy and cleaned up after himself so well that I didn't need to do anything after he'd left.

The icing on the cake is that he phoned yesterday evening a couple of hours after he'd left to make sure that everything was okay and then followed that up with text this morning. I think it is fair to say that in over forty years of dealing with repair technicians from various companies I have never had such an experience. If asked I'd happily award Kyle 10 out of 10 and as many gold stars as possible for the work and after care that he has displayed.

Have been called out to fit new lighting etc on a property wired by this lot. You should be ashamed of yourselves. The quality of the work is woeful. 2 way switching wired incorrectly, multiple switches and sockets where the cables have not been stripped correctly with sheathing tightened into terminals. Poor quality lighting connections all around and found 2 sockets where the terminals were not even tightened.

The consumer unit looks like it was wired by someone with zero care or pride in their work. Why am I not surprised that when coming here to leave this review I find many other negative reviews. I personally wouldn't let these people wire a plug.

Shocked to see a rating as high as 2.9 for CE! Without doubt the most frustrating company I have ever had to deal with. It took 1 whole year to install the correct electric car charger after they incorrectly installed it initially. Within that year they ignored almost every email, every phone call & every voicemail. it's borderline impressive just how useless this company is. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Worst customer experience I have had. I bought a new house two and half years ago and paid for an alarm system to be installed as part of the build. During the 2 year warranty one PIR was faulty and I needed to contact them because the alarm was randomly going off. They attended to correct the fault and a PIR was replaced. During the visit I found the system was dated, it doesn't connect to the internet, it doesn't have remote monitoring, it will ring out on selected telephone numbers but this is an expensive add-on.

I thought I would be contacted at the end of the warranty for a maintenance plan and as a wireless system it has a whole number of batteries to be replaced. I contacted them regarding maintenance and was informed they needed to survey the system cost 146 plus vat before they could maintain the system. I pointed out they installed the system so why did it need to be surveyed.

They then said it wasn't registered which was apparently my responsibility although no documentation was provided to cover this point. I then pointed out that I had a call out during warranty so it must be registered. But no, that was customer service not maintenance, obviously they don't communicate with each other. I said I was happy to take out a maintenance plan at an annual cost of 81.45 plus vat plus materials but they showed no flexibility.

They are hopeless to deal with and don't understand customer service. Needless to say I found a more responsive company who were registered maintainers for my system and the system was attended 2 days later at a substantially lower cost. The system is now discontinued!

Great company to work for. I worked here as an apprentice for two years working in multiple teams for a multitude of top builders (from small to large). Impressive support network and resources. High quality company with documented processes and procedures for everything. Excellent team leaders and good line managers that are willing to listen. The regional production managers are excellent and easy to talk to.

Board of directors have a clear direction for the company and care strongly about their staff off and on-site. Strong emphasis on delivering quality work and getting it right first time which I like as it aligns with my own personal ethos. Communication from top to all levels of the hierarchy is efficient and well-controlled i.e. sharing latest technical updates organization-wide, latest updates regarding Health and safety, correct reporting procedures etc.

I certainly felt looked after during my time here and developed good relationships with all staff. Whenever I had technical or non-technical questions, I felt confident I will find or get my answers easily. Training facilities in Gloucester are brilliant and certainly aided my learning/development as an apprentice. The lecturers are knowledgeable and passionate about teaching, this is evident in classes and during virtual lessons (due to COVID).

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at college and always looked forward to college days. The way the apprenticeship is structured is great, offering a good balance between on-the-job training and classroom-led learning. Overall, a good all-round company that looks after its employees, possesses strong support network and always looking to improve as a business for both its staff and customers (builders and homeowners).

If you are looking for an electrical apprenticeship this company will be great for you. From the multiple developments I have been involved with, customers/homeowners have been delighted with our quality workmanship.

Clarkson Evans installed my outside light at my house two years ago. It never worked. Two years later and they've been out 6 times and continually had the wrong parts or not completed the job. I still have no working light. The support team is very weak and clearly the back office systems leave a lot to be desired because there is a fundamental lack of organisation. You'll notice the only positive reviews are from the staff, not from the customers.

If you see an Evans Clarkson sticker then be afraid, unfortunately Taylor Wimpey use them. I've had a number of issues with electrical items, but the worst was this poorly wired plug that was fitted on a fixed wire washing machine. The appliance had been arcing due to a poorly wired connection, as the pictures show the sheathing was not fully removed and probably had a loose neutral wire. Evans Clarkson refused to accept this as proof despite the work being under warranty with Taylor Wimpey. I'm just glad I got a competent electrician in.

Poor! I had an issue with my extractor fan in my bathroom, which was still under warranty. A young lad came out, didn't seem to know what he was doing. Didn't remove his boots, leaving dirty prints and after spending 10 minutes in my bathroom grunted that the problem was fixed. Clearly it was not. Rang Clarkson Evans again, who said they would send an engineer back out, so I took another day off work, u no one turned up. Disgusting customer service. Had a professional out at my own cost to fix the problem in the end who said the ducting was incorrectly installed and not of the appropriate type. Would not recommended and would not buy another property they have had any input in. In short, a total joke.
