I work at a student accommodation as a receptionist, I received a call from Southern Monitoring Services in regards to an alarm. I spoke with one person and they seemed to be understanding and helpful, I called back a second time and the second person I spoke with seemed to be extremely rude and abrupt. I provided them with the right security number, but as I wasn't written down as a 'listed key holder', I wasn't able to find out the fault, which I understand due to security reasons, but as I was concerned there could be an emergency with the alarm (while I'm on site), the call center staff seemed to very rude and unconcerned.
He said to me that he had since spoken with the listed key holder, but couldn't notify me if things are okay now and repeated in a rude manor 'as I've said, I've spoken with the listed key holder'. I spoke with my assistant manager, and she said she hadn't been called, and I don't think my main manager was called either, as she isn't on call this weekend.
So my point being, I understand you have security measures, but if you are calling up a site, and the person isn't 'listed as a key holder', there's no need to be rude, I was concerned about the well being of the building, and not being told anything to rest my mind that everything was okay, is not helpful.

Rang me at 2.16 am saying a neighbour's service was switched off. I see from reverse phone messages that they make a habit of this. I don't think my neighbour has used them for very many years. He used some other service they must have taken over and got my number from their lists. Some bloke there enlivens his night by ringing up old defunct numbers. I certainly would not touch them with a barge pole after this. After I catch up on some sleep. They need prosecuting.
