My girlfriend and I live in a block of flats in London. There was noise coming into our flat from the common corridor, so we decided to change the flat door. We ordered a 42db acoustic door from Enfield in January 2016. The price was approximately 2400. The first door that was delivered to us was installed in March 2016. This door worked poorly: seals frequently dropped off and acoustic performance was subpar. Soon, the door delaminated and Enfield agreed to make a new door for us.
The new door was installed in July 2016. The door again worked poorly. It was slanted and there were gaps in its frame. Acoustic performance continued to be unsatisfactory. After repeated complaints to the contractor installing the door and later Enfield itself, the door was "fixed" in the sense that seals stayed on and it closed properly. But we never got nearly the promised acoustic performance. Enfield were helpful in trying to sort out our problems, but we never got the impression that they (or the contractors they used) were particularly competent.
No acoustic testing was performed on site, despite us paying more than 2000 for a supposedly professional acoustic door. Ultimately, were left dissatisfied with the installation process and the acoustic performance achieved by the door.
