The Alarm Monitoring Company

Had a telephone conversation with them and they asked for an email to be sent outlining what I was looking for with regards to my domestic alarm setup. I did this, and they then declined to provide a quote blaming high petrol prices as the reason. Considering I was requesting a quote for a URN system and would have, obviously, then remained a paying client for years to come, this seems to be poor business logic.

Especially as they consider themselves the best in the UK - not sure how that works when you refuse to service a major UK city in the north of the UK. However, it saves me from recommending them to any of my clients, which is good.

Their service through the contract was okay. At the beginning (approximately 7 years ago), their service was excellent. The company then dropped the ball. So many times I ring up. Give them my postcode and they tell me my name, which is inappropriate for any kind of security. I ended my contract with them, was not told to cancel the standing order, so am due a refund.

What kind of company in 2021 only issues cheques? I told them that I am shielding due to vulnerable family members so avoiding the bank branch would be best. I was told they would check with their superior and let me know. I get an email saying a cheque has been issued. Is this your idea of customer service?

I have been with AMCO for 5 years. They really do have great staff in the office and knowledgable engineers. They have been much more responsive and reliable than my previous security service provider.

Critical: Value Asked this business for price for residential alarm monitoring, switching from using ADT, but unfortunately they were very secretive about the price, . said they needed to speak to me on the phone (despite having all the details the required) before they could give me a price;-/

Massively disappointing Seemed a good deal when we signed up almost 2 years ago but that's where it ended. We upgraded our broadband our landline was no longer the normal copper cable but over the internet, which then meant AMCO were not able to monitor our alarm. They did reach out to say something was wrong, but we would have to pay 130/150 (cant recall the exact number) to upgrade the alarm, plus an increase in the monitoring charges every month going forward.

I asked if they could make our system smart, which they could, but for another 280! This is something that comes standard with all other providers now. We didn't have any monitoring for a month or so, and they took the money out for the next quarters monitoring. When I challenged it, I was told it's not their issue it wasn't connected but mine as I upgraded my internet.

They offered that if I stayed with them, they would waive the next quarters monitoring. When I called back to discuss the upgrades which needed to be done as I was considering staying with AMCO, I was told that the agent was wrong to have said they would waive the monitoring fee and there is no point having a customer who they don't make money from!

We are all here to earn a living but also to honour a commitment too. We have now cancelled all our services with AMCO and didn't do any of the "upgrades" and moved to another provider, who provided the monitoring, smart enabled with an app and many other features which AMCO don't offer i.e. sending a security team to your house in the event of a break in. If you want the most basic alarm, this might be the crowd to go with but if you want any extras then steer well clear as you'll be left disappointed and out of pocket

The driver of the amco security Peugeot partner van on wessex way Bournemouth today 14th july at 1pm should observe red traffic lights, stop cutting up drivers on the road and driving over the speed limit and driving his company vehicle like he's stolen it.

Had an AMCO Alarm fitted last week to my house. The company has been excellent, the engineer was excellent, everything went as planned. No dramas at all, and the system works a treat, cannot recommend highly enough. Microphone speaker is discrete as are the PIR's, cracking product. Nice work AMCO!

Had AMCO monitoring system now for 18 months and all I can say is it's great. It works whenever we test it and the support for our alarm system and the monitoring has been first class. Would recommend.

What a fantastic company absolutely met all my need very quick response for installation and the staff are very helpful and friendly I would reccomend these guys over ADT anyday and there prices and alarm system compared to Adt are way much better

I live just outside London and wanted a monitored alarm for my property for peace of mind; not just for burglaries but also for medical/panic situations for my partner and myself. The installation was incredibly neat and completed in 2 hours. We tested the system with the 2 installation chaps and it worked well, and they trained me to use the alarm in about 10 minutes (that's how easy the system is!). Very impressed so far.

The Alarm Monitoring Company's system is really awesome, mainly as it's so unique - in that when the alarm is activated someone immediately talks (live) into your property to check you're OK. Most people don't understand how great (and unique) AMCO's alarms are, as most other companies sell alarms with standard call-back monitoring - a completely different (and inferior) system.

Possibly the most frustrating thing is that it's quite difficult to communicate this difference to people without demonstrating it - hence why I've written this review, as I think more people should know how good the AMCO system is. [As a quick note: the reason I added the bit about *the frustration* is that I'm actually the son of Les Quigley - the founder of AMCO! That said, I am honest in my review all the same as I've had one in my flat for the last 7 years and it's been super awesome at making me feel safe in Brixton!]
