We are a family owned and run independent business established in Derby in 1980. We are Derby's only approved member of The Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) and have been for the 30 plus years we have been trading. To ensure we are meeting the MLA's high standards, we undergo regular inspections which cover our standards of work and checking we are following their strict codes of practice.
We supply and fit a range of physical security products to provide additional security against forced entry on windows and doors. These include; Collapsible Security shutters, Security Grilles (Mesh, Perforated and Lattice), Security Bars and Security Gates. These are bespoke products, made to measure to ensure a perfect fit and are produced in a range of colours to suit your property.
As the majority of UK homes tend to have UPVC windows and doors we have spent a lot of time learning about the locking mechanisms to allow us to be able to deal with the problems that can occur with these doors and windows. There has been a lot of coverage in the media about the vulnerability of UPVC doors so to combat this problem we now offer the Mul T Lock Break Secure XP euro cylinder as our anti snap cylinder of choice.

Many locksmiths have a bad reputation for several well deserved reasons so it was refreshing to receive excellent service from this Company. Bernard Toon & Son were prompt, courteous, honest and very skillful. Rather than fit a new lock they repaired the old one (much cheaper) and it is working better than ever - recommended.

Thanks very much to Richard! The service was extremely professional from start to finish. My grandma, (in her 80s), had a problem with her window locking late on a Friday night. We were asked to provide photos to confirm if the parts would be available. We were given an update on the Monday as promised! Then Richard went look at the issue himself as promised and on time.
The issue wasn't as bad as first thought. He found a solution and charged an extremely reasonable price. My grandma was very happy! Thank you! We would definitely recommend this company! Other companies quoted a price before even looking at what the issue was.

Excellent service from Bernard, Arrived within 30 mins, looked at the problem with my front door, he had to source the right mechanism from his stock, returned within 25 mins, replaced the broken mechanism and all done to my satisfaction within 70 mins, excellent work and price compared with other Locksmiths l phoned, will highly recommend Bernard, very professional from start to finish
